Baked Beans with Chili Crisp Recipe

Baked beans have sort of a mixed reputation - it's easy to associate them with a stodgy sad breakfast or beans on toast snack, but we're going to go to great lengths here to make a version that is great, while still satisfying that craving for gooey sticky beans. Oh I forgot to mention it also has our Chili Crisp in it, which, while the beans are still the star of the show here, the Chili Crisp definitely is the best supporting actor, or something like that.
Cooking time: 55 minutes
Prep time: 5 minutes
Serves: 4 people
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup of olive oil
- 6 medium onions, sliced
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 Tablespoon of super magic taste chili crisp
- 3 bay leaves
- 2 x 14 oz cans of white beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups of water
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large, deep pan (preferably oven-proof) and add the onions.
- Cook over low-medium heat for 15 minutes or until the onions are slightly caramelized. Stir the onions occasionally and add a splash of water if needed.
- While the onions are cooking, preheat the oven to 390 F.
- Stir in the garlic, Super Magic Taste chili crisp and bay leaves, and cook for another minute.
- Next, add the white beans and stir to combine. Cover the beans with water, stir them well, and season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the pan to the oven and bake for 30-45 minutes or until the beans are golden brown.
- Remove the pan from the oven and allow the dish to cool before serving!
- Serve and Enjoy!
